Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-05-09 ยท Last updated: 2026-05-11
This Privacy Policy describes how the Personal Cashflow mobile application (the “App”) collects, uses, and protects your information. The App is developed and operated by Villareal Software LLC, an Arizona limited liability company (“we”, “us”, “the developer”). Your use of the App constitutes your agreement to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you enter into the App
The App is a personal-finance tracker. You may enter financial information such as account names, account balances, transactions, bills, deposits, transfers, categories, and notes. This information is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework, and (when you are signed in to iCloud) is synchronized to your private iCloud account so it can also appear on your other Apple devices. The developer does not operate any server that stores your information.
Information stored in your iCloud
When you are signed in to iCloud on your device, the App synchronizes your data to your own private CloudKit database. Apple encrypts this data in transit and at rest under Apple’s privacy policy. The developer cannot read iCloud-stored data — only you and your other Apple devices signed in to the same Apple ID can access it. The App also stores a small flag (whether you are an existing-tester “grandfathered” user) in iCloud Key-Value Storage so that subscription entitlements remain consistent across your devices.
Subscription and purchase information
Subscriptions are purchased and managed entirely by Apple through the App Store using your Apple ID. The App receives only the minimum information necessary to unlock paid features: whether your subscription is active, which product you purchased, and (where applicable) the introductory free-trial status. The App never sees your payment card, billing address, or Apple ID password. Subscription verification is performed on-device using Apple’s StoreKit framework; the developer does not operate a receipt-validation server. Apple’s handling of purchase data is governed by Apple Media Services Terms and Apple’s privacy policy.
Information we do not collect
- We do not collect, request, or have access to your bank credentials, account numbers, card numbers, or routing information.
- We do not link to, read from, or import data from any financial institution. All financial data in the App is data you entered yourself.
- We do not use third-party advertising networks, analytics platforms, crash reporters, or tracking SDKs.
- We do not sell, rent, share, or transmit your information to marketers, data brokers, or any third party.
- The App makes no network requests to servers operated by the developer.
2. How we use information
The financial information you enter is used solely to:
- Display your accounts, transactions, and projected balance.
- Calculate dashboards, reports, and the cashflow chart.
- Synchronize your data between your own Apple devices through your private iCloud.
- Allow you to export your own data as a PDF or JSON file when you choose to.
Subscription status received from Apple is used solely to determine whether to unlock paid features.
3. How we protect information
Your data is stored on your device using Apple’s SwiftData persistence layer, which inherits the device’s standard encryption when the device is locked with a passcode. Data synchronized to iCloud is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. We do not run a server that holds your data, so there is no developer-controlled database to compromise.
No method of electronic storage is perfectly secure. While we follow Apple’s recommended best practices for on-device and CloudKit storage, we cannot guarantee absolute security and you use the App at your own risk.
4. Subscriptions, free trial, and auto-renewal
Personal Cashflow is offered as an auto-renewable subscription with the following terms:
- Pricing (United States): Monthly: USD $7.99 per month. Annual: USD $59.99 per year. Prices in other regions are set by your local App Store and displayed at the point of purchase.
- Free trial: The annual subscription includes a 7-day free trial for first-time subscribers. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the trial automatically converts to a paid annual subscription at USD $59.99 per year (or the equivalent regional price). Subscribing to a paid plan before the trial ends forfeits any remaining trial period.
- Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the same price for the same duration unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID will be charged for the renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Cancellation and management: You can cancel a subscription, manage auto-renewal, or change your subscription tier at any time in your Apple ID settings: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions, or on the web at https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current paid period continues until its expiration.
- Refunds: Refunds are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms. The developer cannot issue refunds directly.
- Family Sharing: Subscriptions are shareable via Apple Family Sharing. Members of your Family Sharing group share access to the subscription on their own data; each family member’s financial data remains private to their own iCloud account.
5. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from any child under 13. If you are under 13, do not use the App. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App, please contact support@personalcashflow.net and we will delete any associated information promptly.
6. Your rights and choices
Because all of your data lives on your device and (optionally) in your own iCloud account, you have full control:
- Access: open the App at any time to see all of your data.
- Export: use Settings → Export Data to download a JSON copy.
- Delete: use Settings → Reset App to permanently erase all data on the device. Deleting the App from your device also removes its local data. To remove data from iCloud, sign out of iCloud or delete the App from all your devices, then erase the App’s iCloud data via Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Personal Cashflow.
- Subscription cancellation: as described in Section 4.
Residents of jurisdictions with applicable privacy laws have additional rights:
- California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not collect sensitive personal information.
- EU/UK residents (GDPR/UK GDPR): You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction of processing, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. The developer does not have an establishment in the EU and does not engage in regular processing of EU resident data; consequently no Article 27 representative has been appointed. Inquiries may be sent to support@personalcashflow.net.
Because the developer does not store your information on its own servers, the App itself is the system of record for your data, and you can exercise these rights using the controls described above. Contact us with any questions.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects when changes were made. Material changes will be reflected in the App or its App Store listing.
